Pre-Arrival Information: The Center for Language Education & Development

The following information applies only to incoming Georgetown GPPI and MBAstudents.

ARRIVAL DATE:

Students should plan to arrive at least 2 weeks before the Communication Tools for Success course begins to arrange for housing and attend to other settling-in issues. Once the course begins, there will be no time to do this. Students will receive an I-20 to allow entry to the U.S. 30 days before the start of the course.

MEDICAL INSURANCE:

The Fall 2013 GU GPPI and MBA medical insurance does not begin until August 15, 2013. To ensure coverage while participating in Communication Tools for Success, students will be automatically enrolled in the Summer medical insurance program at an additional cost of approximately $270. This will provide coverage from July 12 - August 14. For details on coverage offered by the Premier Plan, click here. 

If participants prefer to use their own medical insurance, they will be allowed to waive (decline) the Georgetown University Summer insurance only if the insurance covers AT LEAST US$100,000 for injury and US$100,000 for illness. If the policy details are not in English, the student must provide an official English translation. Waivers will be done after arrival at Georgetown. Note that the Fall medical insurance and the Summer medical insurance are treated separately and must be accepted or waived separately. Life insurance cannot be accepted as an alternative to medical insurance.
